Authentic Chinese Spot Wu Chow Opens In Austin

After being listed as one of the most anticipated restaurant openings in 2015, Chinese restaurant Wu Chow has finally opened in downtown Austin, backed by the same culinary minds who brought Swift’s Attic to the city. Some of our team members went ahead to check out what all the buzz was about!

As expected, the food was excellent and the drinks were top notch. The Tiki inspired cocktails come in their own specific Tiki glass, which was a nice nod to the Asian inspired cuisine. Wu Chow’s spin on a Pina Colada was served in a parrot tiki glass that came in multiple colors sure to brighten up your day! The fried rice was cooked perfectly and had good heat to it. The courses are made so that you may order multiple plates to share with friends. The twice cooked pork belly and tangerine peel beef were just a couple of our favorites. The spicy deep fried chicken also made honorable mention on our list!

The restaurant space itself is open, modern and well appointed. The patio will surely become a Sunday brunch favorite with ample seating and what we have been told is going to be the best Dim Sum in the city. Wu Chow lends itself to be an excellent option for a buyout with multiple courses and fun cocktails for guests to enjoy. Diners are then just a short block away from Austin’s West 6th Street entertainment district for a fun after dinner excursion.
